Greek Soccer Player Makes Political Statement After Game Winning Goal Giorgos Katidis

Giorgos Katidis was recently banned from the Greek National soccer team and fined $50,000 after a controversial celebration.

Katidis did the Nazi “Heil Hitler” salute after he scored the game winning goal in a soccer game.

Even more significant, the celebration occured on the 80th anniversary of the day that Jews in Greece were deported to Auschwitz.

The Greek Soccer Federation claimed his actions were insulting to “all the victims of Nazi bestiality“.

However, many believe Fascism is returning to Greece.

The Golden Dawn,  a radical far-right political party, has received as much as seven percent of the popular vote in recent Greek elections. Their campaign slogan was “So we can rid this land of filth” and their party flag resembles a swastika.

Back on October 23, Golden Dawn politcian Ilias Kasidiaris actually quoted the “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” in a speech to the Greek Parliament.
